2023 saw the return to an in-person FoCC Dinner/Reverse Raffle. But for 3 years in a row, 2020-2022, the annual event was not held in-person.  We held online auctions of three gorgeous Tom Mayer paintings.  Mummy Cave was Tom’s generous donation to the cause in 2022. When the bidding formally ended at 6pm on September 14th that year, Maureen “Moe” McGinty’s bid of $300 made her our winner.

Moe McGinty (l) is one happy camper as she accepts the Tom Mayer masterpiece “Mummy Cave” — a result of her winning bid happily handed over by Committee Chair Patti Longville.

Special thanks to artist Tom Mayer.  His generous donation of 3 original paintings in those 3 years helped FoCC realize $1,500.00 in donations to help the cause.

In August of 2021, FoCC members took part in our 2nd online auction for a beautiful original Tom Mayer watercolor painting Welcome Home. Oak framed and measuring 19×24 inches, it became another unique Christopher Collectible.  Bidding closed at 6pm on September 15 and the winner for the 2nd year in a row with a bid of $500 was Joe Clark.

“It’s safe to say I’ve become quite a fan of Tom Mayer’s art,” says Joe Clark (r) happily receiving his painting from FoCC webmaster Tim Lilley.

From August 1st through September 16, 2020, our pandemic-challenged 2020 Raffle Committee  conducted its 1st an online auction of the beautiful, original watercolor painting “Old Man’s Cabin,” generously donated by artist and Friend Tom Mayer. Framed and measuring 16 x 20″, it’s a piece sure to raise the Christopher Spirit level in the home or office of our high bidder, Dr. Joe Clark.  His $600 winning bid made our fundraising effort a huge success.  Joe, a Day Camp counselor/director in the 1990s, is also legendary for having submitted one of the most eye-catching brick engravings for Camp’s flagpole area: “Fanny was pushed!”  Congratulations to Joe and heartfelt thanks to all our auction participants.
